Kundalini and Going Where Were Supposed To Go
In the early 90's I had a spontaneous Kundalini Awakening after a near death experience, which I wrote about in a different article. Here's what happened next.
After I got out of the hospital after my injury, and even during my stay there, I felt that I was extremely different. At the time I accounted it to just being glad to still be alive, and for over a decade I never thought anything more about it.
Yet the fact was that I did feel extremely different and I felt driven to pursue meditation and other avenues that I'd always had a vague interest in, but never really pursued.
Now it was an imperative, so I began reading everything I could find. Unfortunately I wasn't finding much that was useful. It was about a year later that I discovered "Pathnotes of an American Ninja Master" by Dr. Glenn Morris.
It was the first I'd ever heard of kundalini, Reiki, Chi Kung and Therapeutic Touch. Within a few days I discovered a Chi Kung class near where I lived in Ft. Lauderdale and was able to barter some dreamcatchers and other odds and ends for some classes.
My teacher there was also a Reiki Master, so he introduced me to Reiki also.
Over the next decade I floundered around (or so I thought) and worked a wide variety of jobs and studied a strange variety of classes in school, as well as spent a large amount of time out in the mountains or hiding out in the desert and just communing and doing various types of energy work. A couple of years ago while living up in Glenwood Springs, CO I was again drawn to get deeper into my energy work, and entered a period of intense yoga, Reiki, chi kung and meditation.
One night while meditating I had a vision of a lotus flower, but the vision included the flower, the stem and the roots.
The meaning was instantly obvious and I easily connected my energy and felt a rush up my spine and out through the top of my head.
Over the next few months I went through a period that I can only describe as a karmic clean-out.
Any unresolved issue that I didn't properly deal with would keep popping up over and over until I dealt with it calmly and from my center.
I had my drivers license revoked twice (during a period when I was just being hired by UPS, blew the engines on 3 vehicles and had a tortured series of bureaucratic battles.
I had strange energy surges as my body re-wired itself and had energy releases that sent me to massage therapists and other Reiki practitioners to have cleaned out.
Some of this still happens, and probably always will.
I also went through a period of balancing my chakras, and I can look back at my life in various periods and see what chakra I was in.
After a few months I started trying to get away from it all. I stopped doing my yoga and meditation and entered a period that I can only describe as a mental hell. I later learned that even then I was balancing out my light and dark sides (but that's a new posting).
After a few months of this I finally realized that the best way to deal with all this was to *quit trying to deal with it and JUST ACCEPT IT*.
Once I began relaxing into myself and wasn't fighting the changes as much, I began to really feel a deep connection to the other energy around me. Cities like Denver drove me nuts, and a casual drive through the mountains (my buddy Jeff called them 'medicine drives') would turn into an hours long meditation as I could feel the energy of all the trees and the world around me as I passed through.
It was still a time of healing and I carried around a damaged feeling that was gradually lessening as I became more relaxed.
At the time I was living in an old RV and just traveling around. I went back to Albuquerque for the winter and, even though things were still hard, I was learning to feel better.
Then one day in February I suddenly realized that I was still working against myself.
I made a silent affirmation that I would quit working so hard at this, and that I was just going to relax, have fun and enjoy each moment and see where I was supposed to go next.
A couple of days later I got a message from Jeff that Dr. Glenn Morris (whom I'd had a chance to finally meet at a metaphysical fair the previous October) wanted me to come up for a weekend and assist with the booth at another metaphysical fair.
So back I came to Denver, and a weekend of volunteer work turned into a temporary partnership in a nonprofit and my helping with several of his kundalini awakening seminars.
My training with Glenn opened up a vast world of new experiences and showed me that so many parts of my life actually made sense, and opened the way for the healing and growth that I so badly needed.
Along the way I remembered that every time I had a problem or needed some direction I could just relax and affirm to go wherever I was supposed to. The lesson for me was to have a little faith, and that having faith will work only if you commit to it and then let it happen.
Even now I continue to affirm that I'll go wherever I'm supposed to go and do whatever it is that I'm supposed to do, and so far I've ALWAYS had the guidance I needed within a couple of days.
I hope this helps some of you who may be struggling with some aspects of this. This is obviously an ongoing process that's moving into it's second decade and probably will never be 'finished', but at least I'm learning to enjoy the ride and go where I'm supposed to.

â??Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of the party.â?? This line is a typing exercise, but it holds a bundle of truth for mankind.
A Tale Of Three Essences
Water of Enlightenment, Angel of Peace and Harmony for Nature are a trio of remarkable vibrational essences. They teach, raise our awareness and question what we know by their very existence.
To Witness the Life that is God
My wife, our friend and I went to listen to a concert in one of the well known Halls in Melbourne. After parking our car two elderly ladies showed us where the entrance was and we began walking toward it.
Building the Bridge of LOVE - Dont You Think Its time?
One of the saddest times in any child's life is when for some reason they think one or both or their parents are going to be taken from them. In the mid-nineties on one of their tours Naomi Judd announced to the world that she had hepatitis and would retire from the country music business.
How to Test the Spirits
There is a specific technique that a Shaman uses to determine if spirits, guides, entities, beings that visit him or her are beneficial or not. It is an ancient technique that has been around as long as Shamanism has been around.
Why Angels, Why Now?
The Angelic realms have been very active throughout the human experience. They-as brilliant aspects of your Source-have been offered as protectors and teachers for every one of you.
Mind, Body, Spirit Healing vs Traditional Psychotherapy/Psychoanalysis
The word "psychology" is the combination of two terms - study (ology) and soul (psyche), or mind. The derivation of the word from Latin gives it this clear and obvious meaning:The study of the soul or mind.
The Wisdom of the River: Lessons Learned
Over the past few years I have watched the popularity of whitewater rafting grip the vacation market. "Strange", I thought.
Choosing Peace, One Shift at a Time
It doesn't matter what magazine or newspaper you pick up these days, there it is! the evidence of violence; the killing of innocent people, the terror of aggression and destruction. How do we, as caring, compassionate, conscious people maintain our inner peace in the face of war? Is it responsible to turn from the glaring headlines, close our eyes, go within to connect with that place of inner peace? What if those headlines have stirred up our visceral fear reactions and we are disturbed and angry? When outer circumstances create worry, helplessness and judgment how do we shift our inner attention so that we send peaceful thoughts, rather than more anger and hatred? The Nature of ShiftingHave you ever seen a Magic Eye picture? If so, you know what it's like to stare at a page of little dots, blinking and wondering, "When am I ever going to see the hidden picture?" Frustrated, you take a deep breath and draw the page closer, then farther away, but still all you see is dots.
From Spiritual Cry Baby to Bold Seeker of Truth
Ever notice how people dread discussing the truth about life? Their fear usually comes out as, "I never talk about that" or "Some things we're not supposed to know." They quickly cut off any probing of who they are and why they're here.
Are You a Microwave or Crock Pot?
In our fast paced society we often want everything done quickly or your boss wants it done yesterday. In your spiritual life are you a Microwave or Crock Pot? I think often we want God to answer our prayers in Microwave fashion.
Its Not What You Know, Its What You Do
Knowing what is right and what is wrong in your own inner consciousness is insufficient. It is not the knowing of truth that transforms a person; it is the doing of truth that has an impact on you and on the other people that you interact with.
Acknowledging the Existence of Your Soul
Talking about your "soul" and the deeper things in life is so frequently considered as spun out or weird in modern, take-away-eating, order-it-on-the-internet life, but if you are one of these people, you'll find that letting go of socialistic trends like these will free you in a way that you simply cannot be freed in a materialists world. The end result is inner peace that no material possession could ever come close to.
The Amazing Possibilities In Your Impossible Dream
There was this TV commercial a couple of years back that made me look away every time it came on. It was for some kind of a power saw and the premise was that there was this guy who built furniture for a living.
Eliminating the Past
Most forms of psychotherapy I know either tries to help you accept the past, understand the past, learn from the past, perceive the past differently, or try to take the emotional edge of the past. In spite of all this effort to ameliorate the effects of the past it, in the end, is still inside you and you continue to identify yourself with it.
Servants of the Antichrist
The "Left Behind" series is inspiring, in that it makes people think about serious, life-and-death situations. Yet it tends to assume that, even in the face of disaster, life for fundamentalist American Christians will center around the same values and goals that have dominated their lives up until now.
What is Prayer?
Prayer from a child's simple bedtime prayer, to the prayers of the most devoted monks of the eastern religions, is something that is done the world over.My dictionary says prayer is:1.
God Drives a Harley, a Bus and a Taxi
God rides a Harley, God drives truck, God is a dictator in a small country, God is a doctor and a patient, God is the Saint and the sinner, and yes God is even a lawyer. There is nothing that God is not.
For the Glory of God
One of the most touching stories in New Testament scripture is the gripping drama of two sisters and a brother; Mary, Martha and Lazarus. It illustrates how two sisters dealt with grief following the death of their brother.
Preparing For Enlightenment
Enlightenment can come in an instant or it may take many life cycles. The shortest distance between two points is in a straight line and so the fastest way to achieve enlightenment is to know that you are already enlightened.
